Christopher Martin, a 1974 Mariemont High School graduate whose recognitions include a Uhl Prize for his outstanding Ph. D thesis and the NASA Exceptional Scientific Achievement Medal for his work with the GALEX Small Explorer mission, sat down for fifteen minutes to answer some burning questions we had.

Some topics we discussed include Mariemont in the 70’s, teaching at the California Intitute of Technology, one of the most prestigious universities in the world, and how Martin’s astronomical balloon the size of the Rose Bowl almost made him miss Mariemont’s Distinguished Alumni alumni day.
