Fall Sports Recap – Tennis

This year, the tennis team was split into three teams–one varsity and two JV–because of their 33 player roster. Varsity finished top ten of division II and JV won first place at Coaches Classic.
Varsity player, Junior Claire Soller said, “This has been the best season of my life. We had a great team record and all of us on the team were so close and had so much fun together.”
Sadie Koehler, JV team captain, said, “The tennis team grows together and although we are all trying our best to improve personally we are also growing as a team, by creating what’s best for the team instead of what’s best for our individual selves.”
Noteworthy Accomplishments:
- Record: 18-2
- Big win: Beat Wyoming
- Abby Black 1st in CHLs for 3rd singles (11-0 record)
- Lucy Neville and Melanie Weiss 1st in CHLs for 1st doubles (7-0 record) .
- Payton Wilhelm and Annie Byers 1rst in CHLs for 2nd doubles (7-0 record)
- Varsity placed second in the CHL
- Varsity was voted fourth in the city and 13th in the state
- Coach Spreen coached his 100th win against Oak Hills on September 23.
