Girls:
Girls Cross Country had one of their best years yet. Hailey Zobrist, Junior Captain, said, “We were a lot stronger this year and I feel like everybody pushed each other until the very end.”
The team placed first at districts and fifth at state.
The team had many incredible runners this year. Lily Bauer, a freshman, placed second overall in CHLs (best time of 18:34.7), second at regionals, and 24th at state (for more information on Bauer click here).
Also notable was Erin Kelly who placed 8th at regionals (time of 19:53.0), Elyse Kelly who placed 12th (20:02.0), and Bridget Gilmore who placed 14th (20:33.0).
Boys:
The boys cross country team raced to the finish line–district finals— in their 2019 season. The team placed second at CHLs and had four runners place in the top 20 at Regionals: Sam Beeler, Henry Buck, Santi Biro, and Bennett Turan.
Junior Alex Mantle said, “This season was better because the teams made it further than other years that I have run. Also our team is very young, and our fastest runners were freshmen and sophomores, which means that we will be better in the coming years.”
Sophomore Captain Ethan Dill said, “This season has been my favorite season so far, although I miss the seniors last year, I was happy to see everyone else back and ready to run!”
