With a week until their opening night, the cast of Mary Poppins has been rehearsing in full swing. This show is based on a combination of P.L. Travers’ beloved book series of the same name, Mary Poppins, and the movie musical version, released in 1964. Mariemont’s stage musical includes elements of the Disney film with other material inspired by the books, creating a show that’s “practically perfect in every way!” According to Ellie Haynes, a junior acting as Mary Poppins herself, “this show is truly the perfect way to show off the artistic and theatrical capabilities of those involved. Playing Mary has been such an amazing experience; we’ve all put so many hours into this musical, and I’m so proud and excited to open next week, come see the show, it will be supercalifragilisticexpialidocious!”
