I remember playing football at lunchtime with our principal, Dr. Sasson. I also remember Drew Schmidt and Alex Wood hanging Mr. F’s trolls from the light fixtures and taking home Scooter in Mrs. Wiley’s Kindergarten class.

I remember the smell of the cafeteria and the sixth grade play. I remember flour sack babies and Mrs. Sommer yelling at Hank Molski for suggesting we do a “slave auction” as a fundraiser. I also remember Mrs. Smith’s first grade birthday books, reading in the bathtubs and the hill at recess in sixth grade. Lastly, in first grade, Libby Peters and Tyler Murphy planned their wedding.

I remember when Chelcie Whoberry smacked her head against the pavement—we still make fun of her for it. I also remember playing the games we made up at recess like wall ball; it was so intense and it was fun because everyone was involved. We had wall ball anniversaries. Also, 6th grade bleacher pull was so dangerous, we would literally pull people from the bleachers and the last one standing was the winner.

My fondest memory is playing line tag with my friends in gym and not having to worry about the evil things in the world.
