Although many students at Mariemont wonder what Campus Life does, the members of Campus life wonder what they can’t do.

Campus Life was created three years ago as a group to address bullying. This group attempted to shift the focus from the negativity of bullying by creating a more amiable school climate.
Campus Life is in charge of many school activities like Trick-or-treating on Halloween, Intramurals, the Unsung Hero awards, and outdoor lunches in the spring.
While most students have heard of Campus Life, many don’t know what Campus Life does on campus.
“They do fun stuff for the school, I think?” sophomore Drew Fiorenza said. “I don’t even know if Campus Life does anything at all.”
But saying that Campus Life does nothing for the school is far from the truth.
Campus Life’s main mission is, “To create a community where MHS students feel less stressed and anxious, both socially and academically, through activities and programs that create a fun and unified environment.”
“In five years, I see Campus Life making the school a happier, less stressful place,” said Mrs. Tackett, the counselor in charge of Campus Life.
Campus Life is attacking this goal by looking to do new events for the students, like the Respect Retreat. The Respect Retreat is an event for the sophomore class to learn how to respect and be respected. The Respect Retreat will take place in February.
Campus Life is open admission for anyone who wants to be involved. It is as simple to join as going to a meeting, which are posted on the morning announcements page.
Mrs Tackett also wanted to stress, “Campus Life isn’t perfect. It is a work in progress. If anyone has a problem with what we do, I’d like them to tell me, not talk about it on social media.”
