Wearing a neon vest and holding a glowing baton, modern day superheroes roam Mariemont High School during home games to save the day from a parking mess.

These superheroes are sometimes referred to as the Mariemont High School parking crew.

“I don’t know what I would do without them,” says junior Mikey Lockhart, an avid Mariemont sports fan and a new driver. “They’re amazing.”

These people direct traffic before and after events at Mariemont High School, saving drivers a lot of stress and time.

“They pretty much run the school,” says Lockhart.

Mr. Nerl and former Mariemont student Lakmal Ekanayake run the parking crew.

“They are great,” says junior Chance Tudor, a veteran of the crew. “they always treat us fairly.”

Each member of the crew is livin’ large with an hourly wage of 8 dollars to get the job done in the parking lots. They also get a free drink and a free food item at each game.

William Bragg, a member of the crew, says, “It’s very enjoyable and is a great way to make money.”

Bragg says that they not only direct the traffic, but also set up for the numerous festivities that occur before and after home games.

Each member of the parking crew has to arrive three hours early to set up for the game.

“I love it. It’s the best job ever,” says Tudor.
