On Friday, May 1, members of the Cappies team and the cast of the musical Legally Blonde met over zoom to see nominations. The musical was nominated for 14 awards, and the Cappies critics team was nominated for 2 (list below).

The winners will be announced at a virtual Gala on Thursday, May 28.

The nominations came through the international Cappies program. Cappies seeks to recognize high school actors and encourage high school journalists.

In Cincinnati’s chapter, high schoolers from around the area are chosen by teachers to be journalistic critics. Critics see shows from other schools, write reviews (reviews are judged and the best are published), and, at the end of the year, vote.

Student critics from around the area scored shows through the weekend of April 15-20. Critics used a 10-point scale, giving specialty points to shows they felt deserved awards.
