Vacations are supposed to be breaks from your regular way of life. They are supposed to be relaxing and give you time away from the stress of school and work.  But when a vacation goes horribly wrong, it ruins the entire purpose of the trip to begin with. Juniors Brenna Biggs and Asher Koreman are victims of vacation conundrums that ruined their fun and relaxing getaways.

Brenna Biggs and her family were on their way to Myrtle Beach when they realized something had happened.

“We stopped to get something out of our bags,” Biggs explained, “and they were gone.” They frantically looked around for their bags until they realized the possibility that maybe the bags had slid off the roof of their car. They decided to double back and search for their suitcases, and eventually found them.

“We found them on the side of the road and they were all dirty,” said Biggs holding back laughter.  The Biggs family was able to move on with their vacation, but the bust-open dirty suitcases put a damper on the rest of the trip.

Asher Koreman and his family were spending Christmas at their cabin in North Carolina in 2010.  The snow was building quickly and just before the family arrived, their car got stuck.

“We had to walk to our cabin in the snow without any luggage,” explains Koreman. “When we got to the cabin, all we had was like, one pizza so then we had no food for the next day.” In the freezing cold weather with multiple feet of snow, walking to the nearest restaurant was not really an option.

“Our dad went outside in the deep snow covered in towels and trash bags to stay warm because we didn’t have any real winter clothes at the cabin.” Mr. Koreman was able to make it to the nearest store, which was a gas station.

“He bought a couple microwave burritos and burgers that we had to live off of for the next two days before we could finally get our car out of the snow.”  This experience was described by Koreman as miserable.

“It sucked,” he said.

Vacations are supposed to be relaxing, but these were far from it. Experiences like these were miserable at the time for everybody involved, but now are looked back at with laughter by the people who it happened to, along with everybody else of course.
