Mariemont High School is a mix of many things. Fairfax, Mariemont,Terrace Park, Williams Meadow. Freshman, Sophomore, Junior, Senior. Another thing that sets students apart is what they wear to school.

“The temperature in the school differs so much in the school I like to wear layers so I can stay comfortable all day,” says Junior Kyle Matz.

“I try to dress nice every day, and then some weeks when swimming is hard it will only be once a week,” says senior Nate Wagner.

Junior Alice Barnes has a different outlook on getting dressed for school:  “I only dress up probably once or twice a week. Other than that I’m obsessed with wearing Lulu Lemon yoga outfits all week because they’re both comfy and cute.”

Her reasoning for wearing comfortable clothes often lies in her love of sleep, among other things.  “With a boyfriend in college and my focus on school, I just really don’t feel the need to impress people,” says Barnes.

“I usually wear whatever is comfortable,” says Senior Gabi Proffitt. “I don’t always put much effort into what I wear.”

Each student’s definition of dressing up differs, especially among genders.
“No sweatpants or gym shorts,” says Wagner about dressing up. “Wear polos, button ups, and sweaters, with nice jeans or khakis.”

“I always wear jeans, a shirt, and a sweatshirt,” says Matz.

To Barnes, what she wears depends on the trends.  “I usually try to follow what’s in style, for example I like wearing a J. Crew button down with a skirt and cowboy boots, or an oversized sweater and leggings, and in the spring and summer I love to wear rompers,” says Barnes.

“Dressing up is simple,” says Wagner. “If you look good you feel good.”
