To a follower of CHL girls volleyball, you’re bound to see “a lot of surprises”, according to sophomore hitter Kendall Harden. The first surprise and major story line of the season is the fact that the Lady Warriors return no seniors. After a 2010 season depending strongly on the experience of the seniors, the team will be given the task of showing they have what it takes with a team of only juniors and sophomores. And they 100-percent believe they can.

“Everyone doubted us at first since we’re so young,” Harden said, “but I think we can surprise a lot of teams.” With 6 sophomores and 7 juniors on the team, Mariemont could be the youngest in the league.
Despite the experience question, the Lady Warriors are led by the strong play of 6’0” junior Quincy Taylor (who had the 2nd most kills in the CHL in 2010) and junior libero Emily McGraw, who Harden states is “very good in the back row”. The team has also imported some added power from junior Samantha Cooke, who is new to Mariemont from Loveland.
